The Career
and Technical Education Vision in the Shoreline School District
The Shoreline School District believes all students
should graduate from high school having completed a planned sequence of
courses that allows them to explore their interests, and develop connections
through what is taught in each classroom to their lives outside of school
and their future. Shoreline further believes that students can best achieve
success by approaching their Career and Technical classes using a Career
Pathway model. |
What are Career
Pathways?
Pathways are a planned sequence of study that aligns student interests and abilities with coursework that can lead to advanced placement in post secondary institutions, industry certification, and/or the ability to leave high school and earn a living wage. The purpose of Career Pathways is to help students make informed choices as they begin the transition from high school to post secondary. There are six Pathways identified by NEVAC and its member school districts: Arts and Communication, Business and Marketing Management, Business, Finance and Operations, Science and Engineering, Social and Health Services, and Technology, Trades, and Manufacturing. CTE courses are offered through Shorewood and Shorecrest High School as well as other NEVAC member high schools. Copyright © 2004 Shoreline School
